What it’s about
One single mom. One chaotic family. One quirky stranger. One irresistible love story from the New York Times bestselling author of Me Before You
Suppose your life sucks. A lot. Your husband has done a vanishing act, your teenage stepson is being bullied and your math whiz daughter has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you can’t afford to pay for. That’s Jess’s life in a nutshell—until an unexpected knight-in-shining-armor offers to rescue them. Only Jess’s knight turns out to be Geeky Ed, the obnoxious tech millionaire whose vacation home she happens to clean. But Ed has big problems of his own, and driving the dysfunctional family to the Math Olympiad feels like his first unselfish act in ages… maybe ever.

 Karla’s  Review

5 ++ Stars! One Plus One = an infinite number of stars! A top shelf read!
This story cracked my heart wide open and then healed it, as this extraordinary family, plus one unknowing member they pick up along the way, beat the odds and journey to a happily-ever-after!
You’ll be rooting for this down and out family and the mother who is left to pick up the pieces every time her children are let down. She does it with a never ending positive attitude, grit and determination. The message she instills in her children is one of hope, even though their expectations are shattered over and over again. Prepare yourself for an abundance of emotions that will bring you to the depths of despair and then lift you to the clouds!
There are too many descriptive words that I would have to comprise to express what you’ll feel when you read this engaging, heartwarming, and at times heartbreaking story about some of the most delightful, endearing characters I’ve ever encountered. Jess, a resolute, courageous, overworked single mother, whose heart holds no bounds. Nicky, her socially outcast, bullied, gentle stepson. Tanzie, her brilliant, sweet, inquisitive, beautiful daughter. Norman, their stinky, protective, lovable dog. And Ed, the man who comes into their lives at his lowest point and theirs, shows them kindness and accepts them and all their quirkiness. He will come to mean more to them than they could ever have hoped for. An unlikely hero, who’s a little geeky, a little thick around the middle, but has a huge heart and is kind beyond words. He will do whatever it takes to get them to their destination, give them what they’ve never had…someone they can count on, and, in turn, they will give him purpose and the family he never knew he wanted or needed!
A beautifully written uplifting story, filled with meaning, hope, unconditional love, and a little romance. It will have your eyes brimming with tears as this lovely family finds their way to a happy ending!
About the audiobook…

5 Stars! Exquisitely narrated by 4 gifted voices!
I went into this with some doubts about 4 points of view articulated by 4 narrators, and it was all for naught. Elizabeth Bower, Ben Elliot, and Steven France made this a story I will never forget, but Nicola Stanton, who spoke for Tanzie, stole the show!
An award winning performance by all parties and I want to rewind and start again.

Final thoughts ~ Whether you choose to read the story or listen as I did, it’s a story you don’t want to miss by an author of indescribable talent!
