Review Rewind: THE SIREN (THE ORIGINAL SINNERS #1) BY TIFFANY REISZ

Review Rewind: THE SIREN (THE ORIGINAL SINNERS #1) BY TIFFANY REISZ

Karla’s Review 5 Head Spinning Stars!! Although some of the subject matter in this book was not always comfortable to read about I was ENTHRALLED and had to keep reading. A book that does that is worth 5 STARS from me and then some!! si•ren: a seductively beautiful or charming woman, especially one who beguiles men, aka Nora Sutherlin. I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this book, nor how to write a review that gives The Siren and Tiffany Reisz the proper adulations. There are circumstances in this book that arise that I would normally condone, but the author makes us comprehend and accept that not all situations warrant the same handling. […]

REVIEW: THE SCOT BEDS HIS WIFE (Victorian Rebels Book #5)

REVIEW: THE SCOT BEDS HIS WIFE (Victorian Rebels Book #5)

Dorsey’s Review 4.5 Scottish Rogue Stars!! Gavin St. James (Mackenzie), Earl of Thorn, is a beautiful but troubled and broken man. He’s trapped in a life he hates, struggling to get things that he thinks will bring him the happiness and status he craves. He is the youngest son of the hated and loathed Laird Hamish Mackenzie. The former Laird was a cruel and evil man who damaged everyone within his path including his children, as we learned in The Highlander. Gavin and his beloved mother were damaged deeply at his father’s hand and sadly he has troubled relationships with his half-brothers. Samantha Masters is a woman who was orphaned at […]

Review Rewind: Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick #7) by Kristen Ashley

Review Rewind: Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick #7) by Kristen Ashley

Karla’s Review Hector “Hispanic Hottie-Double H” Chavez, had thick, black, wavy hair, black eyes, long legs, broad shoulders and a lean, amazing body. He was magnetic. 5 Stars! Another hit in the Rock Chick series! I’m on a Hector and Sadie HIGH!! I’ll be honest with you; Hector pissed me off in the beginning when Sadie went into Nightingale Investigations to inquire about hiring them for her protection. He let everyone believe that she was everything they thought she was when he knew better. Hector was aware that Sadie was nothing like her father, even tried to help him when he was undercover and he never opened his mouth to tell them any different. […]

REVIEW: WILD FIRE by Anne Stuart (Fire #3)

Dorsey’s Review 3.5 Anti-Hero Stars! Sophie is a prisoner on her husband’s private island. She’s an ex-operative for the Committee and made the mistake of falling in love with her target Archer and marrying him. Archer eventually found out about her ties to the Committee and had her shot, but, the shot didn’t kill her, only paralyzed her. Review Rewind: A Wild Night’s Bride (The Devil DeVere #1) by Victoria Vane

Review Rewind: A Wild Night’s Bride (The Devil DeVere #1) by Victoria Vane

Karla’s Review 4.5 Stars!! A deliciously naughty, sexy, fun romp! Wild Night’s Bride is a unique, fresh, wonderfully written novella, with some truly memorable characters and a plot that left me chuckling. It’s true to the Georgian time period in setting, lifestyle and linguistics, which added to the appeal of the book. Sir Edward “Ned” Chambers has come to London to secure a house for the upcoming season. He runs into Viscount Ludovic DeVere, his best friend, and godfather to his daughter Vesta. Three years prior Ned lost his beloved wife Annalee and has never sought the companionship of another woman. His loneliness is all too apparent and DeVere is appalled […]

REVIEW: WIRED by Julie Garwood (Buchanan-Renard #13)

REVIEW: WIRED by Julie Garwood (Buchanan-Renard #13)

Dorsey’s Review 3.5 Stars!! Not one of my favorites of the series, but, I did enjoy it. I loved that we had cameo’s from Noah, Jordan (who is Alli’s close friend), and Alec. FBI Agent Liam Scott (he was first introduced to us in Fast Track) is trying to find out who in the FBI is leaking confidential information via email. Allison Trent is in her senior year at college, beautiful, and a genius at computers and unfortunately hacking, she’s a modern-day cyber Robin Hood and earns money to pay for her education (and support her horrid family) by modeling on the side. Liam enlists her help in solving his case […]

REVIEW: RELENTLESS BY D.B. REYNOLDS (VAMPIRES IN AMERICA, BOOK #11.5)

REVIEW: RELENTLESS BY D.B. REYNOLDS (VAMPIRES IN AMERICA, BOOK #11.5)

Dorsey’s Review 5 Vengeance Seeking Stars! This Raphael and Cyn novella is a MUST read!! This novella picks up after the death of Mathilde, when Laurent, a child of Mathilde’s appoints himself as Lord of her territory and seeks revenge against Raphael for her death. The situation with the European vampires is heating up. Naturally, Raphael retaliates and seeks vengeance by taking his fight and his vampires to France to put a stop to Laurent’s reign over Mathilde’s vampires and territory. There was also secondary plot and we’re introduced to Quinn, who was selected and approved by the Council (meaning Raphael) to challenge the current Lord of Ireland to rule the […]

REVIEW: Accidental Sire (Half-Moon Hollow #6) by Molly Harper

REVIEW: Accidental Sire (Half-Moon Hollow #6) by Molly Harper

Dorsey’s Review   4.5 Fang-tastic New Vampire Stars!! Following a freak accident college student (Vampire Ultimate Frisbee Game), Meagan is on the verge of death with the only possibility of survival being a vampire turning, which she agrees to. Within twenty-four hours Meagan wakes up a bit different than our “normal” beloved Half-Moon Hallow vampires. What ensues is the accidental turning of Ben Overby by Meagan, and the search for the person or persons responsible for a new breed of vampire with slightly different abilities and features. “I will do my best not to get abducted by a mad scientist a third time.” As new vampires, Ben and Meagan find themselves […]

REVIEW: LETHAL LIES by Rebecca Zanetti (Blood Brothers, #2)

REVIEW: LETHAL LIES by Rebecca Zanetti (Blood Brothers, #2)

Dorsey’s Review 3.75 Lethal Stars! Rebecca Zanetti’s Blood Brothers series continues with Heath’s story. Blood Brothers is a spinoff series of her Sin Brothers series (a favorite of mine!). You really don’t have to read the Sin Brothers series to enjoy this series, but, I highly recommend reading Deadly Silence, book one in this series before reading Lethal Lies. The brothers are private investigators and possess enhanced skills that give them the upper hand when needed. I completely love the camaraderie between Heath, Ryker, and Denver along with the Gray Brothers (Sin Brothers series) who all have cameos in this series. “Ryker reached into the cooler and withdrew three beer bottles. […]

REVIEW: The Time in Between by Kristen Ashley (Magdalene, #3)

REVIEW: The Time in Between by Kristen Ashley (Magdalene, #3)

Dorsey’s Review   3 Second Chance Stars!!! Cady and Coert’s story begins in Denver eighteen years earlier. Their attraction was instant, mutual, and it didn’t take long before they were in love. Cady’s home life was a sad lonely existence; she’s unappreciated and generally ignored unless it’s to tell her what a failure she is, mainly by her cold unfeeling mother and brother…her father just kinda tows the line. Problem is Cady doesn’t want the life her parents expect out of her, she’s content working at a convenience store, while striving to make her dreams of becoming a clothing buyer come true. Cady is a loyal to her childhood friend and […]
