What it’s about

To
Chuito the apartment was a self-imposed prison for a lifetime of sins. To
Alaine, the girl next door, it was salvation from her overbearing, religious
father.
He
was a devil.
She
was an angel.
Two
people who should’ve never met, let alone become friends, but it’s not until
they give into the dangerous passion that’s been simmering under the surface
for five years that things go to hell.
On
the outside, Chuito ‘The Slayer’ Garcia is on top of the world.  He’s successful. He’s wealthy. He’s a
champion MMA fighter surrounded by friends who support him, but they don’t know
what he was before he came to Garnet.
A
gangster.
A
thief.
An
addict.
A
murderer.
Now
his past is churning up demons he can’t ignore. Chuito knows he needs to go
back to Miami to end it, but there’s something holding him back, a single
temptation he can’t resist before leaving.
Alaine.
She’s
the one drug he can’t give up…even if it destroys them both.
“To
me you’re coke. Fine. Smooth. Perfectly white. Very bad for me, but so fucking
sexy I don’t give a shit. It’s worth going down for.”
– Chuito Garcia

This is a story about…
And it starts here…

It’s about an MMA fighter and a  preacher’s daughter…

For
five years they talk, they dance and slowly fall in love…

He
becomes a UFC Heavyweight World Champion and she becomes a lawyer..

To be with him forever she buys her ticket to…

This is also about two men, 100% Grade A
“Fucking” Italians.
Chu’s best friend and a his Mafia underboss
brother…

Who
believe…

And this only the beginning…

Excerpt

“It’s a new dance. I don’t
know the steps.”
“No steps. You always need
rules,” Chuito complained. “Just listen to the music. Close your eyes.”
“They’re closed. I’m
listening.”
“Listen to the drums.
That’s the part you listen to. Feel it.”
“I’m feeling it.”
“No. Feel it like a
heartbeat. Like life. You want it to be a love song, hear the sex in it. Hold
me like I hold you.” He jerked her tighter against him as he said it, forcing
her breasts to crush
against his chest and her
dress to ride higher up on her thighs. “Like you need me.”
Alaine sucked in a hard
breath and ran her hand up from his shoulder to his neck. The lust made her
languid against her will, and when he moved this time, she followed because she
didn’t have a choice.
“You’re not supposed to
think when you dance. Supposed to just feel. To move the way I tell you to
move.” He ran his hand up her back, pushing at the center of it until she
arched into him, allowing her head to fall back and forcing her hips tightly
against his. “Yeah, like that.
Better. I step hard. You
step—”
“Soft,” she finished for
him.
“That’s right. Follow my
hand. Hard, soft, together we fit.” He loosened his hold on her waist, and she
stepped back to the beat and then allowed him to pull her into his arms again.
They did it a few times, the push and pull, stepping away from the heat and
moving back together like they needed each other to keep breathing. Then he
pulled her to the right and stepped to the left at the same time. When he used
his hold on her waist to force her back, she stepped so that her feet were
between his. He fit the two of them back together like a puzzle piece again,
with his leg pressed so intimately between her thighs it was making her ache.
She arched her hips on instinct, and he hummed in approval. “Bueno, asi mismo. Move them like
God made you to move them.
That’s good, mami.”
Before now, they’d been
dancing salsa, not this hybrid, more sensual form of moving that felt like a
guilty pleasure. The beat was the same, the steps were sometimes the same, but
this was so much more intimate. A tease. A candy-coated sin that wasn’t a sin
because it was labeled dancing instead.
Alaine loved it.
She let herself be
completely soft in his arms, moving where he wanted her to move, because it
felt so damn good to let go of everything else and just be with Chuito. All she
had to do was feel the drums throbbing and listen to the erotic, lulling sound
of a man singing in Spanish about dancing with his woman.
All night.
They danced until the sun
came up.
 The Reviews

Dorsey says:

5 Tortured Heroes, Intense, Brutal, Beautiful Love Story Stars!!!

I can honestly say that I was not expecting to like Chu’s book as much as I did…what a wonderful surprise!

The
Slayer
skips between past and present so past unanswered questions
about Chu are filled in, and it made for some interesting reading.

Chu is an MMA world champion and former gangster. He has tried to leave that world behind, but it’s never really been behind him, and now he’s now in deep with the Mafia too. But, beneath the tattoos and his MMA fame, Chu’s a loyal and fierce protector and will do anything for his family or those he considers his family, even if it means selling his soul to the devil…which he is convinced he’s already done. Because of this belief, he feels Alaine is totally out of reach for him no matter how much he loves her.

Chu has been in love with Alaine for five years, but pushes her away because of how naive he believes she is. Yet, as he pushes her away, she is also becomes one of his best friends, and although he hasn’t completely confided in her about his past and present, he has told her things he’s not shared with anyone else.

Alaine’s a small town girl who grew up with her pastor father, and she has no idea how the other half lives and how truly brutal gang life is. But, Alaine is pretty determined to have Chu and is willing to do what it takes to make sure he is hers!!

I have to mention how much I really, really loved the bromance between Tino and Chu. They had me smiling and laughing out loud several times. Their personalities totally complement each other, then throw Alaine in the mix….prepare to be amused! One of my favorite scenes is with Tino, Alaine, and Jules…HYSTERICAL!!! But, on a more serious note, yes, they are hysterical but the love and loyalty that Chu and Tino have for each other is truly a beautiful thing.

This was a great addition to the series, with a surprise ending. I cannot wait forTino’s book, and I’m equally (if not more so) anxious for Nova’s book!!!

Karla says:

5 KNOCKOUT Stars!! Intense,
passionate, sensual, brutal, exciting, and at times…downright hilarious! A
steamy scrumptious romance with delicious side of bromance!

Kele Moon’s done something really special with this book and series! It’s not
your typical MMA romance; it’s about
family, loyalty, sacrifice, and love…love in many forms…The Slayer is the total
package. The author brings the reader into the dark dangerous world of gangs
and the mafia, humanizes the anti-hero, and despite the heinous crimes they
commit, you  can’t help but feel and fall
for them.

The story transitions between past and present, explains the character’s
history and events that shaped their personalities. It makes for a captivating,
gripping story, and holds the reader spellbound with anticipation! This is
something the author did brilliantly in Crossing
the Line
and it’s done every bit as good here!
Chuito, the elusive tortured hero, you thought you knew who he was, but
you had no idea…not until now! He’s done bad things, but he did them because love
and loyalty drove him to it!
Alaine…what wonderful surprise! I thought she was going to be a meek
mouse…uh not so much…the girl is fierce! She wants Chu and is willing to sacrifice
whatever she has to, just to be with him.
And then there are the Italians, Tino and Nova. OMG…Tino’s bromance
with Chu, I was howling with laughter at their antics and conversations. Kele
Moon has an amazing sense of humor, what a wonderful element to balance the
dark side of this story. Nova, Nova, Nova…I have no words other than I’ll
shake hands with him anytime!
My hats off to Kele Moon for what she’s done with this series. When she
first brought us to Garnet County by way of Defying
the Odds
, the first book in the Battered Hearts series, which precedes Untamed Hearts, she started a trend with books about
MMA fighters. I never anticipated these characters to take on the life that
they have, and for the writing and storytelling to take such an unexpected,
fantastic turn. And now I need more by way of two Italians that have captured
my heart.
So, I offer you my services Ms. Moon, I will babysit, clean your
house, shop and cook for you, mow your lawn, do your laundry, and even clean up
after your pets, if it means that we will get the next two books faster!! Because
my goodness…that ending!!!
I can’t recommend this book and series enough, you could start with The Viper, the first book in Untamed Hearts, but I say go back to the
beginning, start with Defying the Odds!
Welcome to Garnet…where crazy doesn’t even begin to explain it!

About Kele Moon

A
freckle faced, redhead born and raised in Hawaii, Kele Moon has always been a
bit of a sore thumb and has come to enjoy the novelty of it. She thrives off
pushing the envelope and finding ways to make the impossible work in her story
telling. With a mad passion for romance, she adores the art of falling in love.
The only rules she believes in is that, in love there are no rules and true
love knows no bounds.
So
obsessed is she with the beauty of romance and the novelty of creating it she’s
lost in her own wonder world most of the time. Thankfully she married her own
dark, handsome, brooding hero who had infinite patience for her airy ways and
attempts to keep her grounded. When she leaves her keys in the refrigerator or
her cell phone in the oven he’s usually there to save her from herself. The two
of them now reside in Florida with their three beautiful children who make
their lives both fun and challenging in equal parts–They wouldn’t have it any
other way.
