What it’s about
At the powerhouse law firm of
Knight & Payne, winning comes first and ethics a distant second. Leary
Michaels uses her female charms to daze opponents, and it’s always worked
well—until now. On her most personal case yet, she finds herself going up
against a defense attorney just as skilled, shameless, and seductive as she is.
Reeve Holloway has never met a woman as sure of her own sexuality, or as
ruthless in wielding it, as Leary is. But he won’t be toyed with. What Leary
starts, he’ll finish—in the courtroom, the bedroom, or any-damn-place he wants.
The sex is uninhibited, electrifying, and absolutely against the rules. Reeve’s
job is to ruin Leary’s case…even if it destroys her in the process and costs
him the woman he’s come to love.

Sawyer Bennett is my new go-to author. With every book of hers I read, I fall even more in love with her writing. So far, there is not one book I wouldn’t wholeheartedly recommend to all romance lovers and everyone who wants to become one, because Sawyer’s books will make you a fan of the genre.
Friction is her newest hit and quickly became a favourite of mine. Leary Michaels is a successful attorney, working for the small guy, not the big money-making corporations. She uses every weapon in her arsenal to win and is never afraid to make a bold move. Reeve Holloway does not see Leary coming. Working for a high-powered law firm, he represents a client he knows will lose and worst of all, he even sympathizes with Leary’s side. Getting to know her better, he is not only incredibly attracted to the sexy lawyer, but also comes to care for her. With two attorneys on opposite sides of the court room, this can only spell trouble.
With Leary, Sawyer Bennett created a character that is everything I admire in a heroine and in a woman. Leary embraces her sexuality and doesn’t feel like she has to downplay her femininity in order to show how smart and capable she is. Even though she fully concentrates on her career, she is not afraid of love or admitting her feelings for Reeve. Reeve is exactly the right counterpart for Leary. He is smart, strong and sexy but also confident enough to recognize Leary’s skill and admire her for it. Most of the time, it turns him on like crazy. Leary and Reeve have an explosive chemistry but, most of all, I loved their softer, private moments when they get closer emotionally. Throughout the trial, they both face a few problems, ethically, professionally and personally. To overcome those, they have to trust each other, but that’s not so easy when you’re fighting for opposite sides.
This is a book for everyone who likes their romance hot, sexy, heart-warming and full of laughter with an extraordinary couple you will fall in love with very quickly. Friction is written from a dual POV, highlighting both Leary and Reeve’s sides, which makes this story even more unique. Give this one a try – you won’t regret it!!
