Fantastical (Fantasyland #3) by Kristen Ashley

Fantastical (Fantasyland #3) by Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley Does Disney??…with a Rating NC17 of course. This series has been such a wonderful unexpected surprise for me and book 2, The Golden Dynasty even makes my top 4 of KA favorites. I am not a big fan of anything even slightly paranormal, but KA just touches this realm in this series, and therefore I enjoyed her fantasy world. At first when I began reading Fantastical I felt like I was in the animated movie Snow White with birds singing and fluttering around the characters heads. There was such gaiety with Cora, the heroine, and her sister Rosa, as they floated and frolicked humming and singing their Tra-la-las. Also […]

Sweet Sexy Scorching Blog Hop

Sweet Sexy Scorching Blog Hop

There has been a lot of hype in the media lately regarding “mommy porn” books and the use of ereaders to hide what we’re reading. While we love our ereaders something fierce, it doesn’t mean we’re ashamed of what we’re reading. In fact, we love erotic romance books and want to share it! People often assume that by reading erotic romance books you’re only reading sex- but it’s not true. There is a great story waiting to be told and so what if there’s a little hot sexin’ going on? It’s just like any other romance novel except with a little more heat and that makes it so much better! Sadly, […]

A Scandalous Affair by Karen Erickson

A Scandalous Affair by Karen Erickson

Story Rating-4 Stars Character Rating-4 Stars Romance Rating-3.5 Stars Heat Level-3 Stars Overall Rating-4 Stars I really enjoyed this story, although I wished that it would have been a little bit longer. This is the second short HOT historical romance that I have read by this author. It’s too bad, considering the talent she has, that she doesn’t write full length books. The story was interesting and I did not want to put the book down. The heroine, Daphne, was a 33 year old widow who has been married to an older man. Her husband had been kind to her, so it was not a bad marriage, but left Daphne feeling […]

Country Mouse by Amy Lane and Aleksandr Voinov

Country Mouse by Amy Lane and Aleksandr Voinov

More like Roaring Grizzly!!!  HOT, HOT, HOT!! I adored Owen and Malcolm! They couldn’t have been more different, yet they were so perfect for each other. Talk about role reversal, it was amazing to see how it all played out. Owen is on vacation in London with his ex-girlfriend, when he spots Malcolm across a bar that he ventures into. He’s bi-sexual, but at the moment it’s the sexy Brit who’s caught his eye. Malcolm is waiting in the bar for his “date”…or rather the man he’s arranged to have sex with…a hook-up, when he sees the “country bumpkin”. Appearances can be deceiving and Malcolm is about to find out what […]

The Boots My Mother Gave Me by Brooklyn James

The Boots My Mother Gave Me by Brooklyn James

The Boots My Mother Gave Me was a powerful and poignant story of a young girl’s turbulent life as she struggles to find that one special thing she was born to do. It was so emotional, yet beautiful to read that I was a puddle, exhausted, and completely wrung dry by the end. It is one of those books you can’t put down for even a minute, it completely hooked me. The story explored some darker topics such as alcoholism, abuse, and suicide, and yet the dialog was witty, frank, and at times very funny. It is a hard plot to describe because it had so much to it. Was it […]

Forever And A Day by Jill Shalvis (Lucky Harbor #6)

Forever And A Day by Jill Shalvis (Lucky Harbor #6)

Books from Jill Shalvis always make me feel like I’m visiting really good friends. There is true comfort, a sense of camaraderie and just plain silly joy that comes from reading one of her stories. I could add that I’m a big fan, but that’s probably glaringly obvious at this point. That said, Forever And A Day, while it still managed to hook me early and reel me in, did not end up being a favorite, as the other books in this series have. Grace Brooks found her way to the charming seaside town of Lucky Harbor after the disappointment of what should have been a new job and a new […]

Breathe by Kristen Ashley (Review #2)

Breathe by Kristen Ashley (Review #2)

My goodness, what an emotional book Breathe turned out to be. I haven’t read a book by Kristen Ashley that had me in tears as much as this book did. Mostly, that was due to the heartbreaking and deeply moving side story of a young boy named Malachi. The story of Malachi was captivating, intriguing, and heartbreaking while uplifting. I loved the way his story shed additional light on Chace’s and Faye’s inner characters. The romance that developed between them was beautifully woven to include Malachi’s story, making Breathe a very emotional and touching read. I can’t gush enough over Chace and Faye as a couple. I adored them together. Chace […]

Breathe by Kristen Ashley

Breathe by Kristen Ashley

5 Fraking Fantastic Stars Angels deserve heroes and heroes deserve angels. So true, so true… Faye and Chase were each other’s destinies and I loved reading their story! I had big anticipation for Breathe because the Colorado Mountain series is what really started me on my Kristen Ashley crazy reading obsession. I had read Rock Chick years ago when it first came out. I loved it and KA’s style, but she didn’t have any other books published at the time. It seems now I can hardly get through a week without reading or rereading a KA story to get my fix. Her typical elements were all there. It started with a […]
