One small town. Three close friends. True love to last a lifetime.
Voted Most Likely to Succeed, Melanie Bartlett ended up anything but. The down-on-her-luck single mom wants a complete do-over—is that too much to ask? With her family long gone from River Bend, strong, independent Mel is as surprised as anyone to end up in the quaint small town she once called home. But with her friends, Jo and Zoe, by her side, and a comfortable room at Miss Gina’s quirky bed-and-breakfast, she just might have turned the corner on a new life.
Wyatt Gibson never liked the big city. River Bend suits the ruggedly handsome builder just fine. Wyatt knows he’s home, even if that means being charmed by the appearance of Melanie and her spunky, adorable daughter. Is Wyatt’s calm devotion—even amid a coming storm—enough to convince Mel she may have found a home to call her own, a family that never leaves, and a true love to last a lifetime?
Catherine Bybee has done it again! Her new Most Likely To series has strong addiction potential!
Doing It Over introduces Melanie, Jo and Zoe who are best friends in high school in small town America. With different backgrounds and goals they are pursuing, they kind of go their own ways after graduation but their bond remains strong. Melanie had high aspirations to go to college and get a great education. Well, life doesn’t always work out the way we plan. Melanie ends up pregnant and without a job. Now, for the high school reunion, she returns to River Bend with her young daughter, never expecting that this trip would turn her life on its head all over again.
Doing It Over is a vibrant story with so many interesting characters and additional story lines that make it very relatable. I absolutely fell in love with River Bend and particularly enjoyed the relationship between Melanie and Wyatt. It’s flirty and fun but they also both acknowledge that they have serious feelings for each other. Wyatt is very supportive of Melanie and never leaves her side once things get tough. I loved learning more about Zoe and Joe as well and I’m already beyond excited for their stories.
A book that completely whisks you away to another place, I lost myself in Doing It Over and I can’t wait to do again in the next Most Likely To installment. If you’ve enjoyed books by Jill Shalvis or Susan Mallery, you’re going to love this one!
