A deadly secret can't stay buried forever . . .

Revenge. It's the only thing that will help Anya Best sleep at night. The serial killer who murdered her sister is on the loose, and Anya will stop at nothing to put him behind bars-even use herself as bait to lure him out of hiding. But she can't do this alone.

Private investigator Heath Jones's job is to bring bastards to justice. This time it's personal. He knew the Copper Killer's latest victim so when her sister asks for his help, he's all in. But when Anya uses the media to taunt the killer, she exposes Heath's identity, putting them both in jeopardy. Now, secrets buried long ago are coming to light and the forces determined to destroy him are watching Heath's every move, waiting to exact their own revenge. And they'll use anything and anyone to get to Heath.

3.75 Lethal Stars!

Rebecca Zanetti’s Blood Brothers series continues with Heath’s story. Blood Brothers is a spinoff series of her Sin Brothers series (a favorite of mine!). You really don’t have to read the Sin Brothers series to enjoy this series, but, I highly recommend reading Deadly Silence, book one in this series before reading Lethal Lies.

The brothers are private investigators and possess enhanced skills that give them the upper hand when needed. I completely love the camaraderie between Heath, Ryker, and Denver along with the Gray Brothers (Sin Brothers series) who all have cameos in this series.

“Ryker reached into the cooler and withdrew three beer bottles. He handed two over.
Heath took a deep pull of his. “Thanks.” Then he studies his brothers, who both were staring at him intently. “Oh. We’re having our feelings chat right now?”
Denver shrugged.
“Seemed like a good time,” Ryker said, taking a slug of his beer.”

Anya Best is a criminal psychologist, whose sister, an FBI agent has become the latest victim of the serial killer that Heath and his brothers, Ryker and Denver, have been trying to catch. Revenge and grief spear Anya into setting herself up as bait for the killer and inadvertently involves Heath in her plan by making him her fake fiancé.

“I promise I’ll protect you with everything I have and everything I am. No matter what, I’m yours.”

Heath’s weakness for protecting women has put him and his brothers in a dangerous position. The brothers still have old enemies out to get them and as Anya and Heath’s relationship starts out on false pretenses but there is no denying the chemistry they have. Now Heath finds himself having to make some very difficult decisions that could also affect his brothers and place them all in danger.

Lethal Lies is filled with action, suspense, danger, and a sexy new romance. There are super soldiers, evil Dr. Madison, and the vile vengeance seeking Sheriff Cobb who are all after the brothers and pose a very real threat to all of them, including the Gray Brothers. I enjoyed this installment in the series but must admit that the book did lag in some places. That said, I cannot wait to get my hands on Denver’s story, which is coming up next in Twisted Truths.
