Crista’s Review

5 Stars!!

***Spoiler-Free Review***

This is definitely a book that should NOT be spoiled.  In some ways I am completely uncertain how to review this book without spoiling anything, so I guess I will be vague and brief.

I absolutely adored this book! This is a book that I stayed up ’til the wee hours of the night to finish.  I seem to remember books that I loose sleep over (and don’t regret it), and this was certainly one of those.

Shyann is coming home after being gone for five years.  She is estranged from her father and is going to home to rebuild her bank account and pick up the pieces of her shattered career.

Lucas works for Shyann’s father and I immediately liked him.  Genuinely liked him.  He is stronger than life, but also had a vulnerability that was obvious.  Whereas Shyann was vivacious and extroverted, Lucas was quiet and reserved.

This is a slow-building romance!!  I absolutely love these types of relationships.  I found myself buying into the relationship and was eager to see Lucas and Shyann finally succumb to the attraction that was so obvious.  The friendship that they share is one of the most memorable parts of this book and it made me a believer in this non-traditional love story.

I dare you to try to figure out this book before everything is revealed.  I found myself puzzled and redirected at so many points in this book that I lost track.  It is best with this book to just go in blind, with an open mind, and let this masterful storyteller lead you through a magnificent story.
