Review: Dark Journey (Anne Stuart’s Bad Boys, #1) by Anne Stuart

Review: Dark Journey (Anne Stuart’s Bad Boys, #1) by Anne Stuart

Dorsey’s Review 5 Grimm Reaper Stars!! Well, this was certainly different!! Alex, is death….literally. The Grimm Reaper in all his unholy glory and he’s in love with Laura. She’s a sickly and fragile young women whose wealthy, influential, overprotective family keeps a very close eye on her, especially since she’s been at death’s door several times, yet she’s spared each time. When Alex finds her again at death’s door he takes a reprieve from his grim duties to spare her one last time, but this time will be different….much different. Anne Stuart is a MASTER storyteller, who can create unforgettable tales and anti-hero’s like no one else!! This novella is less […]

Flashback Friday Favorite: On Thin Ice (Ice #6) by Anne Stuart

Flashback Friday Favorite: On Thin Ice (Ice #6) by Anne Stuart

Reviews Crista says: 5 Stars! Why on earth does this author have the ability to leave me with a silly grin on my face while I replay countless scenes from the book in my head, which inadvertently prohibits me from moving on to my next book? I guess with this question, all roads lead to Rome, which is obviously this author’s unique, awesome, and unparalleled talent. On Thin Ice was an unexpected gift as I thought that Fire And Ice was the final chapter in the ICE series. Now instead of being grateful and satisfied, I find myself hoping that she will “surprise” me once more with another…and then another….and then […]

Flashback Friday: Still Lake by Anne Stuart

Flashback Friday: Still Lake by Anne Stuart

Dorsey’s Review 4 Murderous Stars!!! When Sophie Davis buys a rundown lakeside farm, she moves her parentless and rebellious almost 18-year-old half-sister, and seemingly pre-Alzheimer mother into what she hopes it to be the answer to her problems. Sophie Davis, according to her sister Martie, is known as the “Poor Woman’s Martha Stewart”. She uses her successful homemaking columnist skills to convert the old farm house into a B&B. Stonegate Farm on Still Lake in Colby, VT unfortunately, has a grisly history. Meanwhile, “John Smith” has rented the cottage across the lake, and from the start, Sophie resents his presence, resents what he makes her feel and wants him gone!!! […]

Flashback Friday: Ice Storm (Ice, #4) by Anne Stuart

Flashback Friday: Ice Storm (Ice, #4) by Anne Stuart

Dorsey’s Review 5 Delicious Anti-Hero Stars!!! Isobel met Killian for the first time when he saved her from a brutal rape. She was eighteen years old and touring Europe before heading to college in Paris. Killian is not the “Knight in Shining Armor” he portrayed himself as. He is a professional killer and needs a cover so he uses young Isobel.  She is the innocent, naïve American girl and is the perfect cover. He callously uses her and breaks her young heart which turned her into the cold women she is today. I loved Madame Isobel Lambert, the “Ice Madame”, and her backstory with Killian. I’ve been fascinated with her since her […]

Flashback Friday: Wild Thing by Anne Stuart

Flashback Friday: Wild Thing by Anne Stuart

crista’s review  4 Stars! Leave it up to Anne Stuart to write a book like this. I wonder if she spends time thinking “What’s the most unlikely of heroes?” , and then sets out to make that person just that…a hero. This time, it’s “Tarzan!”….and it works. What I really liked was the humor. Stuart’s humor catches you off guard at times because it is so unexpected in the backdrop of her “dark” story-lines. In this one, Libby is a scientist hired to “study” this “wild man”. She feels sorry for him, let’s him go,…and he carries her off into the jungle like a sack of potatoes! She TALKS INCESSANTLY…prattling […]
