Quickie Review: The Purest Hook by Scarlett Cole

Quickie Review: The Purest Hook by Scarlett Cole

Steffi’s Review Can this series get any better? It just has! The Second Circle Tattoos series is a definite binge read. After reading the first two books back to back, I was beyond excited for Pixie and Dred’ story. We always knew that Pix’s past would play a major role in her book but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t overshadow the romance since Dred also has a troubled past and more than complicated life. A relationship between the two takes work and effort but their attraction is so strong, they always find their way back to each other. I absolutely loved Dred’s band mates and am ecstatic that there […]

Quickie Review: Deep Dark by Laura Griffin

Quickie Review: Deep Dark by Laura Griffin

Steffi’s Review Laura Griffin undeniably has a gift for writing the most intricate, detailed and gripping romantic suspense. As a die-hard fan of the genre, I always look for books that surprise, engage and stay with me for a long time. Every Laura Griffin book I have read does just that, and Deep Dark is another fantastic example. Reed and Laney are a fantastic couple but I loved returning to the Delphi Center even more. While it is not necessary to read the previous books at all to enjoy this one (all of them can stand alone, in my opinion), I highly recommend the entire series simply because it is excellent. […]

Flashback Friday Favorite: On Thin Ice (Ice #6) by Anne Stuart

Flashback Friday Favorite: On Thin Ice (Ice #6) by Anne Stuart

Reviews Crista says: 5 Stars! Why on earth does this author have the ability to leave me with a silly grin on my face while I replay countless scenes from the book in my head, which inadvertently prohibits me from moving on to my next book? I guess with this question, all roads lead to Rome, which is obviously this author’s unique, awesome, and unparalleled talent. On Thin Ice was an unexpected gift as I thought that Fire And Ice was the final chapter in the ICE series. Now instead of being grateful and satisfied, I find myself hoping that she will “surprise” me once more with another…and then another….and then […]

Review: Lake of Dreams by Linda Howard

Review: Lake of Dreams by Linda Howard

Reviews Dorsey says: 3 Stars! This is a reissue of an older Linda Howard story, which I realized after the first few pages of reading. I read this a few years ago in the Everlasting Love, an anthology book. I’m a HUGE fan of Linda Howard’s romantic suspense books and while I enjoyed this one, I didn’t love it. Thea Marlow is having sensual dreams of a mysterious man, they are actually haunting her dreams. The dreams are very real and can bring her ecstasy or fear. As the dreams progress, she attempts to escape the dreams by going to her family’s lake cabin. Her peaceful getaway is broken when she […]

Flashback Friday: Still Lake by Anne Stuart

Flashback Friday: Still Lake by Anne Stuart

Dorsey’s Review 4 Murderous Stars!!! When Sophie Davis buys a rundown lakeside farm, she moves her parentless and rebellious almost 18-year-old half-sister, and seemingly pre-Alzheimer mother into what she hopes it to be the answer to her problems. Sophie Davis, according to her sister Martie, is known as the “Poor Woman’s Martha Stewart”. She uses her successful homemaking columnist skills to convert the old farm house into a B&B. Stonegate Farm on Still Lake in Colby, VT unfortunately, has a grisly history. Meanwhile, “John Smith” has rented the cottage across the lake, and from the start, Sophie resents his presence, resents what he makes her feel and wants him gone!!! […]

Review: The Obsession by Nora Roberts

Naomi is a couple of days away from her 12th birthday when she discovers what a monster her father is. As the story continues we see Naomi, her mother, and young brother Mason learning to live with the fallout of her father’s depravity with the help of her beloved Uncle Seth and his partner Harry. Young Naomi is excited about her upcoming birthday and to see if she’ll get a new bicycle. Naomi wakes up during the middle of the night and sees her father heading into the woods, she thinks he’s hidden […]

Review: A Reason To Live (Reason #3) by C.P. Smith

Review: A Reason To Live (Reason #3) by C.P. Smith

Dorsey’s Review 5 Stars! CP Smith gives me so many reasons to read!! Shane Sherman…where to begin! He’s passionate, controlling, stubborn, protective, and a thoroughly ALL ALPHA MAN!!! If you’re in trouble, he’s the one that you want protecting you, because if it means him dying to make you safe he’s prepared to meet his maker!!!! Unfortunately, he fails to see all the qualities that make him a good friend, protector, and partner, he sees failure when he looks in the mirror. He remembers that one event in his past that prevents him from seeing the wonderful and honorable man he is. When Sage shows up out of the blue, she […]
