REVIEW: Xavier Cold (Hard Knocks #2) by Michelle A. Valentine

REVIEW: Xavier Cold (Hard Knocks #2) by Michelle A. Valentine

Dorsey’s  Review 3 Stars!! I must admit I was a bit disappointed with the continuation of Xavier and Anna’s love story. The overall story was good, just not as great as I was hoping for. This picks up right where Phenomenal X left off, I found the multiple storylines a bit dramatic at times and there were just too many obstacles thrown in X and Anna’s way, along with too much self-doubt for both of them. X’s self-loathing was just plain sad and I missed the over confidentA cocky alpha he was in Phenomenal X! “You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me—my angel—my everything, and I’ll never let you go […]

Review Rewind: Taking a Shot (Play by Play #3) BY Jaci Burton

Review Rewind: Taking a Shot (Play by Play #3) BY Jaci Burton

Karla’s Review  5 Stars! I absolutely LOVED it!! In my opinion, the best book in the series. I understand that quite a few reviews have expressed their annoyance or dislike for Jenna, but once she explained herself, I was on board with her feelings. I had my issues with her too, but as I continued to read and the big picture presented itself, it made sense and I gave her my sympathy. She never once laid blame on Ty for anything and always reprimanded herself when her actions towards him were unacceptable, unfortunately only in her head. Was it right how she treated him?! No, but then there would have been no drama. […]

Sheltered 21 yr old Anna leaves home and abandons her fiancé, a fiancé her father has chosen, because of her controlling and abusive father. Little did she know how much her life will change…. Flashback Friday: The Perfect Play (Play by Play #1) by Jaci Burton

Flashback Friday: The Perfect Play (Play by Play #1) by Jaci Burton

Kristen’s Review 4 Stars! I loved The Perfect Play. It’s very erotic, emotional, and captivating. The characters are richly developed and the plot, though somewhat cliché, is engaging and fun to read. I really love this book! The characters are fantastic and realistic.  Mick and Tara, the hero and heroine, are full of flaws and strengths. I easily believed in their struggles, in their triumphs, and in their relationship. There’s enormous chemistry between the two, and I simply couldn’t get enough them. I thoroughly enjoyed Tara’s son Nathan. The author captured the essences of a teenage boy. Nathan was delightful and brought many humorous moments to the book. I especially enjoyed the mother/son […]

Review: Let Me (The O’Brien Family Book 2) by Cecy Robson

Review: Let Me (The O’Brien Family Book 2) by Cecy Robson

Steffi’s Review 4 Stars! The second book in the popular O’Brien Family series by Cecy Robson gives Finn the happy ending he so very much deserves, but the road to happiness is a rocky one. Let Me tells the story of Finn O’Brien and Sol Marieles. We already find out a bit about Finn in the first book in the O’Brien Family series, Once Kissed, and know that he went through a traumatic event in his childhood. Now a successful MMA star, Finn channels his aggression into his sport, but some situations and emotions can still be overwhelming. Finn never completely processed what happened to him, but just tried to block […]

Review: Firebird by Jennifer Loring

Review: Firebird by Jennifer Loring

Steffi’s Review Jennifer Loring has a new fan! FIREBIRD blew me away with its raw emotion, intensity and the love between two people who simply belong together. Stephanie Hartwell needs a story or she’s going to lose her job as a sports journalist. An interview with the successful, womanizing hockey star Aleksandr Volynsky could be her ticket to a promotion but her boss doesn’t know that Steph and Alex were high school sweethearts until Aleksandr had to return to Russia and Steph stopped all contact. Now, nine years later, Alex and Stephanie meet again and their connection is stronger than ever. But Stephanie is engaged to be married and rekindling her […]

Review: Power Play (Pilot’s Hockey #2) by Sophia Henry

Review: Power Play (Pilot’s Hockey #2) by Sophia Henry

Steffi’s Review Not usually being a fan of YA/NA, I was introduced to the Pilot’s Hockey series because the blurb of book one, Delayed Penalty caught my attention. Not only did I love Auden and Sasha in Delayed Penalty, it made me very curious about Logan. While her characters are young, Sophia Henry gives them a grown up and responsible voice which I really appreciate. Gabriella’s family owns several produce shops and market stalls as well as a recently opened local artisan shop in Detroit. Logan’s family has gotten their produce from the Bertucci’s since he was in diapers and they’ve casually known each other all their lives. When Gabriella’s father has […]

Review: Worth the Fight (MMA Fighter, #1) by Vi Keeland

Review: Worth the Fight (MMA Fighter, #1) by Vi Keeland

Dorsey’s review  4.5 Fighting Stars!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m not normally a “Sports Romance” type of gal but it came highly recommended and I knew I needed to read it! I loved both the hero and the heroine and the complexity of their characters. They both had demons in their past that they were punishing themselves for and believed they were unworthy of any kind of future happiness. Elle is a bright young attorney and is working long hours at a small firm where she interned. She is steadily seeing a fellow attorney, William, who she went to law school with. He is more of a “friends with […]

Review: The Wall Of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

Review: The Wall Of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

Steffi’s Review Being a big fan of Mariana Zapata’s writing, I was really excited about the release of The Wall Of Winnipeg and Me, especially since her other sports romance, Kulti, was a big hit with me. The Wall Of Winnipeg and Me certainly didn’t disappoint and it might actually be my new favorite by this author. All Adrian Graves wants to do and focus on is his football career. As one of the best defensive ends in the NFO, he wants to get the most out of the game he loves. That’s where Vanessa comes in. As his assistant, Vanessa takes care of Adrian’s life, from making appintments, running […]

Review: The Hurricane (The Hurricane #1) by R.J. Prescott

Review: The Hurricane (The Hurricane #1) by R.J. Prescott

Dorsey’s Review 4 Fighting for Love Stars!!! The Hurricane begins with Emily, a university student working as a waitress in a diner, and very obviously trying hard not to be noticed. She’s running from her horrific past and trying to stay free, so she keeps her head down, rarely makes eye contact, and never makes acquaintances. But that all changes when she befriends a cranky old man she waits on daily, then one day in walks a scary handsome man who she shows the first signs of life for. Cormac “The Hurricane” O’Connell is a fighter at the gym Danny owns, and when he meets Emily his whole world changes. “She […]
