Circe Quinn goes to sleep at home and wakes up in a corral filled with women wearing sacrificial virgin attire - and she is one of them. She soon finds out that she’s not having a wild dream, she’s living a frightening nightmare where she’s been transported to a barren land populated by a primitive people and in short order, she’s installed very unwillingly on her white throne of horns as their Queen.
Dax Lahn is the king of Suh Tunak, The Horde of the nation of Korwahk and with one look at Circe, he knows she will be his bride and together they will start The Golden Dynasty of legend.
Circe and Lahn are separated by language, culture and the small fact she’s from a parallel universe and has no idea how she got there or how to get home. But facing challenge after challenge, Circe finds her footing as Queen of the brutal Korwahk Horde and wife to its King, then she makes friends then she finds herself falling in love with this primitive land, its people and especially their savage leader.

5 ROCKIN STARS!! LOVED IT!! Old Fashion Bodice Ripper, Kristen Ashley Style!
There is so much I loved about The Golden Dynasty, but it isn’t for everyone. It has rape, spousal abuse, brutal savagery. I just put it all in perspective of the timeframe it was written for and thought it was phenomenal. I am a sucker for the bodice ripper, but what made KA style bodice ripper so much better was the emotion and connection to the characters, so much more depth. I also love that she gives you a sneak peek of the coming chapter with her titles and that when the story could be over she gives you so much more. These two characteristics of KA writing were very prevalent in The Golden Dynasty.
If you liked the Khal Drogo/Daenerys love story on Games of Thrones this is a MUST read. KA gives you a better story with a HEA and the whole time you can picture Jason Momoa as Lahn.
This story was action packed with Wife Hunts, Claimings, Challenges and Executions. The details were gruesome and riveting. KA did a good job with the whole parallel universe/paranormal explanations. She kept it simple which I was thankful for. Even the language barrier between the hero and heroine worked for me, although some of the effect was lost when she would put the translations at the end of the chapter.
If you are a Kristen Ashley fan, especially of her over the top caveman alpha and her strong and smart minded heroines YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!
