Review Rewind: Taming Eliza Jane (Gardiner, Texas #1) by Shannon Stacey

Review Rewind: Taming Eliza Jane (Gardiner, Texas #1) by Shannon Stacey

Karla’s Review 5 Stars! What a pleasant surprise!  An endearing and fun love story! Think Maverick/Cheyenne Social Club/Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, all rolled into one.  Eliza Jane, divorced women’s libber has come to town, and now the townsfolk are in an uproar, and she is at the center of it all. The trigger finger happy sheriff, Adam, and town doc/deputy sheriff, Will, have made it their business to keep her in line. One wants to shoot her, and the other one wants to bed her. Quite the comedic duo. Will is charming, sexy, sweet, and he’s just the man to keep Eliza Jane out of trouble…maybe! But trouble has a way of […]

Review: The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon

Review: The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon

Crista’s Review 5 Magical Stars!!! Captivating, Enchanting, Mesmerizing, and Mystical These are just a few words that I can’t seem to shake from my mind as I try to recover from the experience of reading The Bird and the Sword.  I sit at my computer wondering how to conjure up words that will do this book even a hint of justice.  The gift that lies in between the first and last pages of The Bird and the Sword is the rare and beautiful gift of writing genius.  It’s a gift that is utterly spellbinding, has the power to transport you into another world, and will leave you wondering how to summon […]

Flashback Friday: Falling for Gracie (Los Lobos, #2) by Susan Mallery

Flashback Friday: Falling for Gracie (Los Lobos, #2) by Susan Mallery

Dorsey’s Review 5 Feel Good Stars!! Fourteen-year-old Gracie Landon falls in love with eighteen-year-old Riley Whitefield, really truly in love. Her antics to discourage him from dating got so out of hand that she made the local small town newspaper which became to be known as “The Gracie Chronicles”. Her mother, in desperation, and in what was supposed to be a temporary solution, shipped Gracie off to live with her aunt and uncle, however, it would be 14 years until she finally returns. Much to Gracie’s dismay, her antics are town lore and NOT forgotten. “She’d been so hopeful that people would forget her.” Gracie is now a successful and popular wedding […]

Review Rewind: Silver Lining by Maggie Osborne

Steffi’s Review 5 Stars! What a pleasant surprise! Silver Lining is the story of Low Down or Louise Downe, a woman who just wants to be one of the guys. Or rather she has to be because she is one of many prospectors searching for gold in the Rockies. When everyone around her suddenly falls ill, Low Down nurses the men through the pox. In return, they agree to grant her, her deepest wish. Low Down’s deepest most heartfelt wish is….a baby but no one volunteers for the job, so the men have a drawing. The man who has to step in for his friends and comrades is Max McCord. When […]

Review: One Small Thing (One Thing #1) by Piper Vaughn & M.J. O’Shea

Review: One Small Thing (One Thing #1) by Piper Vaughn & M.J. O’Shea

Karla’s Review 5 Satisfying Stars! Beautiful, heart-warming LOVE story! The first few pages into this book I thought I was going to read about “Club Kids” and didn’t think the read was for me, but I kept at it and boy am I glad I did. Rue works in a dance club and is a somewhat flamboyant character, but he’s also hard-working, devoted, loving and when life dealt him an unexpected hand he was up to the challenge! Without a moment of hesitation…yes, he wanted his baby! He embraced fatherhood and was an exceptional dad! That in itself made for a beautiful story, but then bring the sheltered, quirky, anxious, owl-eyed Erik […]

Review: Marrying Winterborne (The Ravenels #2) by Lisa Kleypas

Review: Marrying Winterborne (The Ravenels #2) by Lisa Kleypas

Crista’s Review 5 Stars! This is the Lisa Kleypas that I know and love.  When she is writing at the top of her game, no one compares, and I am thrilled to report that Lisa Kleypas is writing at the top of her game!  The best part of the first book in this series, Cold Hearted Rake, was Rhys Winterborne and Lady Helen, so I have been eagerly awaiting their book, Marrying Winterborne! Rhys Winterborne is the quintessential Kleypas hero: a self-made and filthy rich entrepreneur, who lives with shame and doesn’t feel like he will ever be worthy.  Rhys nearly died after a horrible accident in the first book, and […]

Flashback Friday Favorite: Playing for Keeps (Neighbor from Hell #1) by R.L. Mathewson

Flashback Friday Favorite: Playing for Keeps (Neighbor from Hell #1) by R.L. Mathewson

Reviews Karla says:  5 Stars! The ideal blend of romance, humor, and spice! I loved everything about this book. Jason and Haley’s first interaction, their friendship that becomes more, the falling out, the reconciliation, and lordy lordy…their time between the sheets was steamy and sensual. The writing is wonderful, plenty of witty dialogue, and it included a delightful array of amusing secondary characters. It’s the perfect length; it was enough story that you’re committed to the characters, yet the plot is not overwhelming. I felt very much at ease with Jason and Haley’s relationship, it was comfortable and developed rather nicely. The time they spent together as buddies made me adore […]

Review: Ultimate Vengeance (Wanted Men #4) by Nancy Haviland

Review: Ultimate Vengeance (Wanted Men #4) by Nancy Haviland

Dorsey’s Review  5 Ultimate Stars!! In Ultimate Vengeance, we’re finally getting the full story behind Alek’s heartbreak. Alekzander (Alek) Tarasov is one unhappy Bratva Underboss! He is heartbroken, miserable and regrets his decision of sending his ex-girlfriend. Sacha, literally running from him, their home, and the life they shared. He made an emotional decision when something horrific happened to a family member….now he wants Sacha back and will stop at nothing to claim his woman. “She was the one woman who could tie him up in f***ing knots and make him enjoy the cramping pain.” I have to say, I love Vassily he has always come across as more of a father to […]

Quickie Review: Deep Dark by Laura Griffin

Quickie Review: Deep Dark by Laura Griffin

Steffi’s Review Laura Griffin undeniably has a gift for writing the most intricate, detailed and gripping romantic suspense. As a die-hard fan of the genre, I always look for books that surprise, engage and stay with me for a long time. Every Laura Griffin book I have read does just that, and Deep Dark is another fantastic example. Reed and Laney are a fantastic couple but I loved returning to the Delphi Center even more. While it is not necessary to read the previous books at all to enjoy this one (all of them can stand alone, in my opinion), I highly recommend the entire series simply because it is excellent. […]

Flashback Friday: Chill Factor by Sandra Brown

Flashback Friday: Chill Factor by Sandra Brown

Dorsey’s Review  5 Chilling Stars!! Sandra Brown is one of my top “go-to” authors  when I’m in the mood for a great mystery suspense that will keep me guessing and on the edge of my seat. She also manages to add just the right amount of romance to keep the characters connected and the reader enthralled. In the town of Cleary, North Carolina, four women are missing and presumed dead. The town has a serial killer (The Blue Ribbon Killer) on the loose and as the story unfolds, and as usual with a Sandra Brown novel, there are several suspects and a couple of side stories with many twists and turns. Lilly […]
