Rock Chick Reckoning by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Reckoning by Kristen Ashley

5 Stars!! This book ROCKED!! I know I’m in the minority amongst my GR friends, but this book was damn near perfect for me, and IMO, the best so far in the RC series. I loved “seven hundred and twenty-five thousand things” about it, but I especially enjoyed that Mace and Stella had history. They were an item at one time and I was fascinated by this, finding out what tore them apart, watching them mend, building on what they had and moving forward! They were BOTH stubborn, and I know, I know some of you think that Stella was at fault for the relationship breaking apart and she wasn’t quite […]

Easy by Tammara Webber

Easy by Tammara Webber

5 HUGE STARS!! When I picked up this book I was hoping to get an angst-filled young adult romance, with a swoon-worthy dreamy boy that would propel me back to my youth…make me feel young… and give me that floating on a cloud feeling. I got all that and SO MUCH MORE!! I’m not going to delve in the plot, because there is much to be said about the element of surprise and the impact it holds. So much is better just left unsaid. However, I will say that this is a book about choices, the nasty and the sweet side of life, empowerment, and friendship. Jacqueline and Lucas are brought […]

Steffi decided to include The Duke of Shadows by Meredith Duran, which is an amazing book that’s partly set in India. We can’t believe Historical Romance Month is coming to an end already. This has been so much fun and we want to thank Kathleen, Kristen and Elizabeth again for being the fabulous reviewers they are and allowing us to publish their reviews on Swept Away By Romance. While You Were Dead by C.J. Snyder

While You Were Dead by C.J. Snyder

For a while I didn’t read any romantic-suspense, even though it’s my favorite romance genre. The reason being that I was annoyed by the predictable plots and boring revelations of something I’ve known since page 10. You see, I was quite annoyed and in a real RS funk. So much so, that when I first picked up While You Were Dead, I didn’t get past the first 20 pages. I just wasn’t in the mood and that can happen but when I felt the time had come to give romantic suspense another try, I returned to this book. Thank you CJ Snyder for bringing back my love for RS and managing […]

One of the most endearing love stories I’ve ever read. Think Maverick/Cheyenne Social Club/Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, all rolled into one. Eliza Jane, divorced women’s libber has come to […]

Historical Romance Week 1: A Rogue By Any Other Name and Seven Years To Sin

Historical Romance Week 1: A Rogue By Any Other Name and Seven Years To Sin

We already mentioned that we are having three guest reviewers at Swept Away By Romance for Historical Romance Month. Elizabeth provided this amazing review for us. A Rogue By Any Other Name was in the discussion of being included in this contest from the start but her review made it a definite addition. Thank you for this wonderful review, Elizabeth! – The Story – A decade ago, the Marquess of Bourne was cast from society with nothing but his title. Now a partner in London’s most exclusive gaming hell, the cold, ruthless Bourne will do whatever it takes to regain his inheritance—including marrying perfect, proper Lady Penelope Marbury. A broken engagement […]

Having My Baby and Taming Mad Max by Theresa Ragan

Having My Baby and Taming Mad Max by Theresa Ragan

Fabulous freebie! I picked this up on a whim. I have other books from this author that have gotten some good ratings…all free at one time too…so I checked it out. I intend on reading all of them…after reading this little gem today. When I read the blurb for the story, I thought this sounds ridiculous, so I clicked on “read the sample”, because I’m so overwhelmed with books, I didn’t want to add another one, just for the sake of getting it for free. I sampled, and needed more right away. I bought it…zero dollars…and then read until I was done. Very enjoyable and it left me with a warm […]

Playing for Keeps by R.L. Mathewson

Playing for Keeps by R.L. Mathewson

It has been a very long time since I laughed so hard and had so much fun with a book. Haley and Jason are neighbors and colleagues but they don’t get along very well.  Or at least it feels that way for Haley. Jason is loud, ignorant and quite selfish and Haley never complains. But one day it’s simply enough and Haley decides to change her life and starts speaking up for herself. Surprisingly, she and Jason strike up a friendship. That friendship and Jason’s influence help Haley to free herself and be the strong woman that she always knew she was. All that sounds really serious and emotional but it […]

ARC: Fatal Flaw by Marie Force and Series Giveaway

ARC: Fatal Flaw by Marie Force and Series Giveaway

Nick and Sam have just come back from their honeymoon on Bora Bora. Now that they’re back home, they know that they are going to be busy again but they definitely didn’t expect to come back to a serial murder case or the personal threats they both receive. On top of all that, Sam’s father faces serious health issues and they are trying to adopt the boy that has grown to be like a son to them. I have loved every single book in the series so far and after that amazing wedding novella, Nick and Sam feel like close friends that I love to visit with. There is a lot […]
