Review Rewind: Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick #7) by Kristen Ashley

Review Rewind: Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick #7) by Kristen Ashley

Karla’s Review Hector “Hispanic Hottie-Double H” Chavez, had thick, black, wavy hair, black eyes, long legs, broad shoulders and a lean, amazing body. He was magnetic. 5 Stars! Another hit in the Rock Chick series! I’m on a Hector and Sadie HIGH!! I’ll be honest with you; Hector pissed me off in the beginning when Sadie went into Nightingale Investigations to inquire about hiring them for her protection. He let everyone believe that she was everything they thought she was when he knew better. Hector was aware that Sadie was nothing like her father, even tried to help him when he was undercover and he never opened his mouth to tell them any different. […]

Review Rewind: A Wild Night’s Bride (The Devil DeVere #1) by Victoria Vane

Review Rewind: A Wild Night’s Bride (The Devil DeVere #1) by Victoria Vane

Karla’s Review 4.5 Stars!! A deliciously naughty, sexy, fun romp! Wild Night’s Bride is a unique, fresh, wonderfully written novella, with some truly memorable characters and a plot that left me chuckling. It’s true to the Georgian time period in setting, lifestyle and linguistics, which added to the appeal of the book. Sir Edward “Ned” Chambers has come to London to secure a house for the upcoming season. He runs into Viscount Ludovic DeVere, his best friend, and godfather to his daughter Vesta. Three years prior Ned lost his beloved wife Annalee and has never sought the companionship of another woman. His loneliness is all too apparent and DeVere is appalled […]

Review Rewind: Star Crossed (Battered Hearts #2) by Kele Moon

Karla’s Review 5 Spicy Stars!! O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?? He’s in this book, and he’s SCRUMPTIOUS!! I was captivated from beginning to end! My fan nearly blew up!! Yes, it was hot, hot, hot, but Jules and Romeo’s chemistry and the overall story is what made this read such a treat!! Romeo and Juliet you say?! Maybe you’re rolling your eyes and snickering…well don’t because it worked and it worked VERY WELL!! I never once winced over the choice of names and when Romeo uses Jules’ given name…Juliet…YOU WILL MELT!! “I’m not your enemy.” Romeo lifted his gaze to hers and studied her beautiful face under the bright […]

Flashback Friday: What I Didn’t Say by Keary Taylor

Flashback Friday: What I Didn’t Say by Keary Taylor

Karla’s Review 4.5 Stars! Tragic, yet wonderful! Some of these YA books have such an emotional impact, and in this case, it has to do with the fact that it’s told from Jake’s point-of-view. So, as he’s experiencing these life changing events, you feel them right along with him. You are not an outsider looking in, you become Jake! It was downright overwhelming, bowled me over. Jake has liked Samantha since his freshman year, but the two of them have only flirted and skirted around their attraction for one another, but never acted upon it. However, he notices at the start of their senior year that she has become somewhat distant. […]

Karla’s Review -2011 4.5 Stars! With Good Behavior is an extremely well-written engaging book. It has one of the sweetest heroes I’ve ever encountered, Grant Madsen. He’s honorable, charming, emotional, and so sexy. He meets the delightful Sophie while visiting his parole officer. She’s a complete stranger to him and yet he offers her comfort in his arms. He had me at that first hug. As the two of them get to know one another, they tell […]

Review Rewind: Chase in Shadow (Johnnies #1) by Amy Lane

Review Rewind: Chase in Shadow (Johnnies #1) by Amy Lane

Karla’s Review 5 Stars! A very powerful and emotional read! I had no idea the journey I was going on when I started this book, but it was one filled with unbelievable highs and lows, amazing characters, and a story that damn near ripped my heart out of my chest. Slowly the layers are peeled back on Chase’s past as his story progresses in the present, and you understand why he has chosen to hide behind the image of being straight. The guilt that this boy carried around for most of his life was unimaginable, and the façade he hid behind because of a tragic childhood, never allowed him to be […]

Flashback Friday: Beg for Mercy (Dead Wrong #1) by Jami Alden

Flashback Friday: Beg for Mercy (Dead Wrong #1) by Jami Alden

Karla’s Review 5 Stars! Excellent romantic suspense/thriller! This had everything I love in this genre of book. A twisted villain committing gruesome murders, nail-biting suspense, an intense romance, and great secondary characters. Nothing sugar-coated here, pretty graphic descriptions of the deeds and the aftermath of the crime. Although the killer was easy to spot, it did not take away from the story. There was still that desperation to solve the murders, and the hopelessness of the situation if it was left unresolved. What I really loved about this book is that although it wrapped up nicely, the circumstances of the crimes had far reaching effects on other characters and some issues […]
