Quickie Review: Deep Dark by Laura Griffin

Quickie Review: Deep Dark by Laura Griffin

Steffi’s Review Laura Griffin undeniably has a gift for writing the most intricate, detailed and gripping romantic suspense. As a die-hard fan of the genre, I always look for books that surprise, engage and stay with me for a long time. Every Laura Griffin book I have read does just that, and Deep Dark is another fantastic example. Reed and Laney are a fantastic couple but I loved returning to the Delphi Center even more. While it is not necessary to read the previous books at all to enjoy this one (all of them can stand alone, in my opinion), I highly recommend the entire series simply because it is excellent. […]

Flashback Friday: Chill Factor by Sandra Brown

Flashback Friday: Chill Factor by Sandra Brown

Dorsey’s Review  5 Chilling Stars!! Sandra Brown is one of my top “go-to” authors  when I’m in the mood for a great mystery suspense that will keep me guessing and on the edge of my seat. She also manages to add just the right amount of romance to keep the characters connected and the reader enthralled. In the town of Cleary, North Carolina, four women are missing and presumed dead. The town has a serial killer (The Blue Ribbon Killer) on the loose and as the story unfolds, and as usual with a Sandra Brown novel, there are several suspects and a couple of side stories with many twists and turns. Lilly […]

Review: Troublemaker by Linda Howard

Review: Troublemaker by Linda Howard

Dorsey’s Review 2 Disappointing Stars!! I hate that I am so disappointed with a Linda Howard book. When reading the book blurb I was so excited because it sounded like a classic Linda Howard book….I was sorely disappointed. I was expecting a book reminiscent of her “CIA Spies” books. What we got was basically the life of a beloved Labrador in a small West Virginia town. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs but I don’t want to read a whole book about a dog when I expected a book that was clearly tagged as romantic suspense! It started out strong, the first two chapters we’re introduced to Morgan Yancy, an […]

I’m All Ears ~ Audiobook Review: The Search by Nora Roberts

I’m All Ears ~ Audiobook Review: The Search by Nora Roberts

Karla’s Review 3 Stars! I’m still “SEARCHING” for the excitement! Okay, so the book had some moments, but I really expected more in the way of a thrilling read. I did like the two main characters, Fiona and Simon. Fiona was easy going, funny and a dog trainer extraordinaire! Simon was gruff, demanding, pushy, but it added to his appeal and they played well off of each other. I enjoyed the dog training aspect of the book, I love dogs, but when a book is titled The Search and the underlying plot centers around a serial killer, well, you would think it would be more exciting! Fiona survived a kidnapping, the […]

Review: Midnight Quest: A ‘Men of Midnight’ Short Novel (Midnight Men, #4.5) by Lisa Marie Rice

Dorsey’s Review 4 Soul Searching Stars!! We were introduced to Lauren and Jacko in Midnight Vengeance. Jacko has always been a loner, other than his SEAL family he has no family ties, his junkie mother died years earlier and he never knew who his father was or if he has any blood family left at all. Flashback Friday: Still Lake by Anne Stuart

Flashback Friday: Still Lake by Anne Stuart

Dorsey’s Review 4 Murderous Stars!!! When Sophie Davis buys a rundown lakeside farm, she moves her parentless and rebellious almost 18-year-old half-sister, and seemingly pre-Alzheimer mother into what she hopes it to be the answer to her problems. Sophie Davis, according to her sister Martie, is known as the “Poor Woman’s Martha Stewart”. She uses her successful homemaking columnist skills to convert the old farm house into a B&B. Stonegate Farm on Still Lake in Colby, VT unfortunately, has a grisly history. Meanwhile, “John Smith” has rented the cottage across the lake, and from the start, Sophie resents his presence, resents what he makes her feel and wants him gone!!! […]

Review: The Obsession by Nora Roberts

Review: The Obsession by Nora Roberts

Dorsey’s Review 4 Suspenseful Stars! As I started this book I was instantly drawn to young Naomi. Naomi is a couple of days away from her 12th birthday when she discovers what a monster her father is. As the story continues we see Naomi, her mother, and young brother Mason learning to live with the fallout of her father’s depravity with the help of her beloved Uncle Seth and his partner Harry. Young Naomi is excited about her upcoming birthday and to see if she’ll get a new bicycle. Naomi wakes up during the middle of the night and sees her father heading into the woods, she thinks he’s hidden […]

Review: A Reason To Live (Reason #3) by C.P. Smith

Review: A Reason To Live (Reason #3) by C.P. Smith

Dorsey’s Review 5 Stars! CP Smith gives me so many reasons to read!! Shane Sherman…where to begin! He’s passionate, controlling, stubborn, protective, and a thoroughly ALL ALPHA MAN!!! If you’re in trouble, he’s the one that you want protecting you, because if it means him dying to make you safe he’s prepared to meet his maker!!!! Unfortunately, he fails to see all the qualities that make him a good friend, protector, and partner, he sees failure when he looks in the mirror. He remembers that one event in his past that prevents him from seeing the wonderful and honorable man he is. When Sage shows up out of the blue, she […]
